Which visitor data are stored on your server systems?
As a visitor to our web sites, your declare that you are agreed with our acquiring and processing of your data in the way that is explained below.
If you want no more than view our web pages, there is no need for you to enter any personal data. For statistical purposes, our systems acquire and store just some general information generated by you as you go without specific reference to your strictly personal particulars. The data aquired include information such as your browser type and its version, your operating system, your IP address and date and time of your visit, the web address that led you to your web site and web sites called via our pages. It would cause us great efforts to establish a relationship between such data and the visitor’s person which would in most cases fail and only work in rare cases where static IP-addresses are used by the visitor. We declare that we refrain from such efforts. Our statistics rely on anonymised data without any reference to you as a person.
The acquisition of these data and the storage in log files is indispensable for the functioning of our websites. These data are not stored permanently or otherwise anomised by deleting part of the IP number.
Cookies are used on our websites where required. If a visitor (or user) calls a website address, a small text file called cookie will be stored on the computer of the visitor. This cookie contains a unique data string that allows the identification of the visiting computer when another request is sent by the user to our server system. The user can however delete all cookies from his system by using the setup features of his browser system.
Personal data privacy
The VBS GmbH uses SSL encryption for all user input forms. Emails are received using TLS/SSL and sent with STARTTLS encryption.
The user (visitor) bears a significant part of responsibility for his own privacy by making the appropriate setup of his computer and software systems to use the mentioned encryption technologies and by implementing the usual security routines against virus attacks and security leaks (by keeping his software and system up-to-date).
The VBS GmbH assumes no responsibility for failure of others to implement and observe the mentioned technologies and security rules.
E-Mail contact
You can contact us via the indicated e-mail addresses or contact forms. The entry of personal data is of course voluntary. Your personal data transferred to VBS GmbH are used for the purpose of dealing with your request unless you have given your consent to uses beyond this sole purpose.
Hyperlinks
When the user clicks on the links offered on the pages of the VBS GmbH and in this way leaves the pages of the VBS GmbH, the VBS GmbH assumes no liability for the observance of laws an regulations by the operator or owner of the link targets.
Contact forms
You are requested to give your consent to our data processing operations before sending a filled form by clicking the related check box and reading these privacy statements.
The following personal data can be stored via contact forms:
- your name
- your e-mail address
- your message text
- your customer number (if any)
- your telefone number (only if you want to be called)
Your data collected in this procedure will not be given to third party. The data are only used for dealing with your request.
Any other data acquired and processed during the form sending procedure are only used to prevent misuse of the contact form and maintain the security of our data processing systems.
As soon as your request has been dealt with conclusively, the data acquired via the contact form are deleted unless we are obliged by law to keep these data stored.
Consent to newsletter follow-ups from previous and prospective customers
If you have not given your consent to us sending you newsletters via registration on our web pages or direct contact, we are obliged by law to ask for your active consent in a once-only preliminary email message. This email contains a link leading you to our web page where you can give your consent by an active mouse click on this page.
If you choose not to click this link, we promise to delete your personal data within 14 days from our list and you will nor receive further inquiries from us in this matter.
Newsletters to customers and visitors following registration via our web pages
In order to provide optimum support to our customers, these are automatically entered into a recipient list for the scientific VAHL newsletter. If you are not agreed with this, you can at any time opt out by clicking the relevant link in the newsletter.
If the customer or registered prospective customer has expressed his consent to receiving newsletters, this consent includes forwarding of personal customer data to third party employed for data processing and forwarding of e-mail content. By accepting these General Terms and Conditions, you also accept out data privacy statement.
Your data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the sending of our newsletters. Your email address will only be stored as long as your consent to our newsletter is valid.

Webshop
The storage of cookies is indispensable for us to operate our web shop, in order to track a visitor browsing through different pages where we need to know the language selected, articles put into the basket and the login information of registered persons.
When our server receives a request for a page in our webshop, the user is informed about the use of cookies for analytic purposes and data privacy on top of the page. The visitor is to declare her or his consent to allow cookies to be stored and the required storage of personal information as appropriate.
Voluntary registration of visitors in our web shop
Everybody interested in our web shop products has the option of registering with no more than name and email address or the full address by opening a customer account. This is no requirement for viewing the pages and the shop products. The advantage of full registration is to see the prices including the tax of the (European) country of the visitor (customer). This is an indispensable requirement to determine the country of origin because the IP number is no dependable information.
Registering as a customer in the Web shop
In this case, the entry of the full address is obligatory. We need these data to generate correct invoices after ordering and the shipment of products.
Storage of data on a landing page
This occurs subsequently to a newsletter invitation sent to previous customers of ours. When you follow the invitation by clicking on a link, you will go to a landing page where the following happens:

Transfer of personal data by analytic tools
If Google® Analytics is used (may occur with web shop).
This only applies of an add-on for newslettes is installed that relies on Google™ Analytics.
Google® Analytics is a web site analysis tool made by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountainview, CA 94043 USA.
This tool acquired personal data of the visitor by means of cookies and transfers these data to Google®. Cookies ares small text files stored on the computer of the visitor. The user can delete these cookies or prevent the storage by appropriate setup action which however places restraints on the functions of the visited web site.
Transfer of personal data to social media services
If social media plugins are installed on the seb shop or other sites of the VBS GmbH:
Personal data of the user or visitor are acquired using cookies and are transferred to Facebook® or other web services of similar type.
Newsletter services
The VBS GmbH reserves the right to employ external web services for the processing and sending of newsletters.
In this case the personal data of prospects and customers are transferred to newletter services such as Mailchmip of Cleverreach.
When the visitor, customer or recipient of a newsletter invitation expresses his or her consent to receiving newsletters, this consent includes also personal data transfer to the mentioned services.
Transfer of personal data from the web shop to third party
If required, the VBS GmbH transfers data from the web shop to exernal IT experts for processing who are obliged to keep these customer data secret.
This occurs regularly when ordering information are transferred to the bank in charge for further processing.
We must inform you that communication channels via the internet (such as email) is prone to security issues. Therefore, security gaps in the proctection of private data against access from third party cannot be ruled out.
General rights of the non-registered visitor
You can surf anonymously on our internet pages.
The locations where personal data are acquired are clearly indicated or you are prompted to declare your consent.
In this way, you decide which personal data we may obtain (if any).
Rights of the registered visitor and customer
In accordance with the Federal Data Privacy Law we are prepared to give you information about your data that we keep stored in our systems.
If applicable, you can have your data updated or corrected. You can also apply for deletion of your data, unless we are obliged by law to keep these data stored.
All collaborators and employees of the VBS GmbH, its affiliates and contractual partners must keep personal data received confidential.
Data privacy is supervised and ensured by an in-house data security officer with appropriate rights and duties.
You have the right to receive information about your data stored by us. In so far as there is no legal obligation to transfer personal data, we will not transfer you personal data to third party without your previous express authorisation or general agreement (expressed for example by declaration of consent or voluntary entry of personal data).
